Tamarack Connection

A tough hike which we usually don’t complete. The part between Packer Lake and the ridge is very nice, passing by the Tamarack Lakes and some neat rock formations. The part after the ridge is hot and dry, though it does have some nice views of the Buttes and the Sardine Lakes.

What we do is either hike the first part of the trail to the ridge and back again, or get someone to drop us off at the other end of the trail and hike to Packer from there.
